Specific Tagging- Allowing Blog Posts and Web Docs to be Accurately Aggregated

Associating Web post and documents with specific elections, specific legislation, etc. URLs Rule!!!

There is a way to definitively associate a web posting or any web document with a specific thing. This is opposed to the loose system called tagging, which is sometimes referred to as folksonomies which is quite popular. Tagging is essentially the idea of using keywords or more simply, words, in a blog posting subject field or as a link within the posting. Examples of tags include: Barack Obama, Obama, presidential election, Barack, Barack vs. McCain. In the case of tags for general issues like environment or a small list of well known people or things, search engines and blog aggregators do a good job of bringing blogs and docs that use them together. But for down ticket elections, it is very difficult to come up with a tag that would help with the discovery or indexing of them with all other related posts and docs. For the millions of disparate sites that include related information, there is currently no established method for this capability.

The web has at its core a system of URLs or web addresses.
